Charles O. Main, 73, of Maywood and formerly of Wilmette died Jan. 2 at Gotlieb Memorial Hospital. Mr. Main helped found the Ballman and Main Municipal Bond Co. in 1921. In 1965 he became vice president of Channer and Newman Securities Co. He was active with the firm until the time of his death. Mr. Main belonged to the Wilmette Mason's Lodge, the Medinah Temple, the Union League, the Mayflower Society, and the Chicago Kiwanis Club. He was a past commander of Evanston Commandry, High Priest of Royal Arch Masons, president of the board of the Baptist Retirement, and honorary deacon of the Wilmette Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mildred M.; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothea Houch of Wilmette, Mrs. Charlene James of Glenview, and Mrs. Winifred Greenfield of Orange, Cal.; a son, David R. in Glenview, a brother, James M. in Rocky River, O.; and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the Scott Funeral Home in Wilmette. Masonic Serivices were conducted Sunday at Scott. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie.
