Frederick Marsh Bowes, 97, of 266 Forest St., Winnetka, died Nov. 23 in Old Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Skokie. A former Evanston resident, Mr. Bowes retired in 1963 from the Bowes Realty Co. He had been a Chicago realtor since [damaged]. He was a founder, charter member, and former president of the of the North Central Association until it became the Greater North Michigan Association in 1951, when he was made honorary president and director until his retirement. He was also influential in developing interest in widening Michigan Av. and in building the Boulevard Link Bridge. He was a 50-year member of the Chicago Real Estate Board, a life member of the Art Institute, and a member of the Honorary Professional Land Economics Fraternity of Lambda Alpha. In 1962 he received the Mayor's Award as an outstanding senior citizen. He is survived by his son, Franklin B.; a grandson, Frederick Marsh II of Northfield; a granddaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Bowes Brick of Salt Lake City, Utah; and three great-grandchildren. Rev. Harold K. Polk of Heritage Congregational Church, Wilmette, officiated at private family services Nov. 25 at Hebblethwaite Chapel. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery, Chicago.
