Miss Aileen Kelly is home from attending school at Tarrytown-on-the-Hudson. Miss Catherine Cushing will leave this week for Minneapolis to attend the wedding of Miss Louise Gillette to Harry Cushing Piper, which is to take place the last day of this month. Mrs. Robert Buckley acted as hostess Saturday at the Exmoor club. Mrs. Robert J. Beatty was hostess at a reception at her home Saturday. The annual banquet and dance of the Alumni association of Deerfield-Shields High school was held last evening. It took place in Highland hall. Major and Mrs. Thomas Troxel of Central avenue have left to join their daughter and son-in-law, Captain and Mrs. Dwight Ryther, who are stationed at the Presidio, San Francisco, Cal. In their absence their home will be occupied by Mr. and Mrs. James H. Channon of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Channon now are in Highland Park for the summer. The Earl W. Spencer house has been taken fo the summer by former Governor Charles S. Deneen and family. The Spencer family will spend the summer in Europe. Tuesday Mrs. Deneen was the guest of honor at a luncheon given by Mrs. Frank Lincoln Wean. There were thirty guests. Mrs. Andrew R. MacCaughey has issues invitations for a large tea for next Tuesday, from 4 until 6 o'clock. The affair will be in honor of Mrs. W. S. Forrest, who with Mr. Forrest, are spending the summer in the city pending the completion of their new home.
