Plans for development of the lake front in Evanston, were given momentum Tues. night at the regular city council meeting. The lake front is currently a city dump. Mayor James Russell Smart appointed a committee make the plans. The committee consists of Alderman Howard M. Carter, chairman of the parks committee of the city council; Alderman Charles G. Congdon and Frank B. Dyche, senior representatives of the city and representatives of the wards bordering on the lake; C. D. Macpherson, as the representative of the Evanston Commericial Association; Walter J. Gunthorp, president of the First Park District; C. P. Whitney, Rufus C. Dawes, Hubert Burnham, Edward K. Warren, James A. Patten and William S. Mason, representatives of thre residents. Carter is the chairman of the committee. The city council approved the mayor's plan.
