Mrs. Adelaide L. Koenen, 81, of Evanston, formerly of Wilmette, died Friday in Evanston Hospital. She was the widow of John C. Koenen, president of the Mayfair Company in Chicago.

Born in Baldwin, Ill., Mrs. Koenen livied in Wilmete for a long time before moving to Evanston in 1939. She had been a member of the Navy Mother's Club and the Red Cross.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Adelaide Prior of Lubbock, Texas; three sons, Leonard S. of Park Ridge, Robert K., 720 Prospect avenue, Winnetka, and Frank W. of Encino, California; a sister, Mrs. Edna [illegible] of Evanston; three brothers, Arthur Wierheim [unclear] of Chicago, John of Mundelein and Robert of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren and [illegible] great grandchildren.

Private services were conducted Monday by Dr. Newland Roy of the First Presbyterian Church of Evanston. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. William H. Scott Funeral Home handled arrangements.
