Mrs. R. J. Winston is the guest of Mrs. Victor Elting of 830 Mt. Pleasant place. Mrs. Foster of Beverly Hills was the guest of Mrs. Carrie B. Prouty last week. Mr. J. S. Dunham of Chicago has rented the Barrett Conway house for the summer. Miss Blanche Meyer is at home again, having returned from Wellesley the first of the week. Mrs. Adam Emery Albright of Hubbard Woods entertained the members of Pi Beta Phi sorority Saturday evening. Mr. Philip Ditmar is to open a branch store in the Prouty Annex this week and is still to keep up his Hubbard Woods store. The residence of Mr. Samson J. Eisondrath, which was damaged by fire last winter, has been rebuilt and is nearly ready for occupancy. Mr. Barrett Conway has leased his home for the summer season. Mr. and Mrs. Conway are to be in Chicago for three months. Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Alschuler of Chicago are staying with Mr. and Mrs. Haas, who have taken the N. L. Hoyt house for the summer. Mrs. J. W. F. Davies, her little son and her father, Mr. W. H. Gould, left Tuesday for their summer home at Lake Hamlin, Mich. Miss Fannie Gregory, who has been the guest of Mrs. J. C. Hunter of Provident avenue, has returned to her home in Detroit, Mich. The annual field day exercises of Horace Mann school will be held tomorrow. An interesting program of games and folk dances has been arranged. The moving pictures have proven so very popular at Community house that it has been decided to give two shows a week. The shows are to be given on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 o'clock. Music will be furnished by th Community house orchestra. Mr. and Mrs. Hugo von Hofsten of Prospect avenue leave today for their summer home in Michigan, to be away until September. They have rented their house to Miss Kirkland of Walton place, Chicago, who is to have her mother for her guest during the summer. Mr. Ernst von Ammon took the leading role in "A Marriage Has Been Arranged," which was producted by the Lake Forest Players at the private theater of Mr. and Mrs. Aldis in Lake Forest on Friday and Saturday of last week. Mr. J. Allen Haines acted as stage manager. Rev. Edwin F. Snell and Rev. J. W. F. Davies of the Congregational church entertained the members of the Apollo club and their wives at the Congregational church on Monday. The club comprises the Congregational ministers of Chicago and suburbs and a large company was present. The Woman's society served luncheon. The Sunday school exhibit which is to be held Friday and Saturday of this week was open for the benefit of the visiting clergyman. Mrs. H. N. [damaged] of 258 Ridge avenue entertained the members of the North Shore Alumnae association of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority on Wednesday afternoon last week. Mrs. Alfred Nelson and little son of 993 Ash street have left Winnetka for a four months trip through Norway and Sweden. Mrs. Nelson's mother and Miss Grace Nelson, who have been in Sweden the past year, will accompany them home in the fall. Miss Carrie Jewell, who is a missionary in China and Miss Loomis of Wisconsin have been the guests of Mrs. C. S. Jewell of Elm street.
