- Jean Shanks Alexander died at the Presbyterian Homes in Evanston, Illinois on August 4, 2012 at the age of 90. She married Fred Alexander in 1948. Fred and Jean were married for 64 years. Jean was the daughter of Edwin and Katherine Shanks. Jean is survived by her husband Fred and children Mark, Jody and Sue, four grandchildren Noah, Ariel, Grace and Amy, one great-grandchild William, her brother David, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Edwin and Lloyd.
