Evanston Health Commissioner Balderson filed his annual report for the year 1912. The most prominent feature is a report on the removal of 157 pupils who suffered from, or were exposed to contagion; this prevented an epidemic. The report also included a summary of Dr. Mary Brooks Baird's summary of routine physical examinations of school children. Dr. Balderston reviewed the typhoid epidemic in Evanston last Oct. The report also contained statistics for deaths among the elderly, and deaths caused by violence and accidents. In the report, Adelaid Thompson, the school nurse, reported that it was not necessary to give as much medical treatment as in 1911.
