Other interests included decades of involvement in Chicago area political organizations, President of the Dartmouth Club of Chicago, service on the Vestries of two Episcopal churches, Treasurer of the North Shore Girl Scout Council, President of the University Club of Chicago and beloved multi-year tutor to a Tucson elementary school class. He was also an avid vegetable gardener, traveler, thespian and newspaper article clipper to make sure his family stayed well informed.
