Curriculum Night for

third and fourth grade will

be today. Parents of fourth

grade students will meet at

6:15 p.m. and parents of third

grade students will meet at

7:15 p.m. Curricutum Night

for first and second grade will

be held Sept.8. Parents of

second grade students wi[1

meet at 6:15 p.m., followed

by parents of first grade

students at 7:15 p.m.

The following new staff

members have joined Central School:

Lori Naumowicz is the

new assistant principal.

With over 14 years of experience in education, she

has most recently served

as the District 39 External

Coach for Positive Behavior

Intervention and Support as

well as a Problem Solving

Response to Intervention

Coach in East Maine School

District 63. She earned a

master's degree in education from Chicago State

University and a master's

degree in administration

along with Type 75 certification from Concordia University. She will be rotating

her time between Central

and McKenzie schools every

other day.

Lauren Kolod is the new

technology teacher. After

graduating from the University of Illinois in 2008,

she worked as a first grade

teacher in Grayslake, and

has held that position for

the past three years. This

summer, she completed her

master's degree in technology in education from

NationaI Louis University.

Brittany Barker' will be

serving as a new part-time

speech-language pathologist

at Central School. This is

her third year in the district.

This year, she will share her

time between the students,

families, and staff at Central

School and Wilmette Junior

High.

Christine Chase will be

a paraprofessional on staff

who previously worked in

the Early Childhood Program

at Romona. She has a master's in social work from the

University of Illinois.

Jennifer Sherman is our

new social work intern. 5he

grew up in Deerfield and

graduated from the University of Michigan. 5he is

starting the second year of

her master's degree in social

work at Loyola.
