Wilmette elections will be held the third Tues. in April. In Winnetka and the other North Suburban towns, elections will be the first Tues. in April. Nominations will be made in March. Politics in Wilmette is contentious. Wilmette politics has been dominated by the "ring". This includes George English who was re-elected in the last election. Citizens opposed to the re-election of President John D. Couffer, head of the board of trustees of the village, aka "Bathhouse John" will have a strong campaign against him. additional candidates for re-election in Wilmette are:

Treasurer--O. M. Ruth
Police Magistrate--A. S. McKenna

Chief of Fire Department--A. S. McKenna

Winnetka's candidates have not been announced.
