Police have charged a Wilmette man, whom they arrested Saturday, with holding his girlfriend against her will and battering her during a three-hour period after doing so.

Mark Wall, 38, of 748 Leamington Ave., faces one count of felony domestic battery — based on a prior domestic battery conviction — and one count of felony unlawful restraint.

He was held in Wilmette custody until a hearing on Monday, where a judge set his bond at $100,000. His next court date is June 10 in Cook County 2nd District Circuit Court, Skokie.

Wall is currently in Cook County Jail on the $100,000 bond, as well as two $80,000 bonds on probation violations associated with two prior domestic violence convictions.

Wilmette Police Chief Brian King said Monday that a 35-year-old Chicago woman came to the Wilmette police station shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday to report that she she’d been confined at the Leamington address, which is the home of Wall’s mother. She had been battered over a period of three hours, but eventually escaped and came to the station, King said. The woman had a 2-month-old baby with her, he added.
