- The Evanston Commercial Association held its annual election of officers on Thursday. Will E. Horton presented the report of the nominating committee. Charles H. Bartlett moved to accept the report. Peter Randlev objected to any change from normal procedure in the proceedings. James E. Duthie was elected president, H. E. Chaldler, vice president, and George H. Tomlimson, treasurer. Robert Lorimer moved the election of the directors en bloc over the objections of Mr. Randlev. Directors elected were George A. Kearney, A. C. Galitz, Hurd Comstock, W. J. Hamilton, W. M. Colwell, D. N. Olson and A. H. Bowman.
Mr. Bowman reported for the transportation committee about the anticipated vote on the Mueller law. If it is adopted the Sherman Avenue Improvement Association's objection to the continuance of the operation of street cars on that street would be nullified for the council would have the right to issue a franchise to an operating company without securing frontage consents.
Mr. Colwell reported on way's and means committee efforts to securing ornamental lights in the business district.
J. R. Duthie reported for the Olympic Club and suggested that every member of the Commercial Association should visit the boys club and become associate members in support.
