Editor reports that the new motor-driven fire engine is not working and Fire Chief Harrison has not revealed that fact to the public. A bolt dropped somewhere in the machinery about three weeks ago put the engine out of order. A run was being made to the home of M.J. Garty at 833 Forest avenue, when the engine failed and recourse to the horse-drawn apparatus became necessary. The machine was purchased about a year ago for $10,000 from the Robinson Fire Apparatus company of St. Louis.
