Wilmette District 39 School Board members said goodbye long-time board member Judy Schnecke at their April 26 meeting. At the same meeting Karen Donnan, Keith Dronen and new board member Alice Schaff were sworn in. All three won election in the April 5 election, Schaff for the first time. The new board approved a resolution to collecct no more than $43.93 million in the amended 2010 levy that will be the subject of a public hearing May 16 when the board expects to pass it. Iroquois Road resident Herb Sorock who led referendum opponents' "Decline 39" effort, promised the board that he and other residents would continue to monitor the boards financial decisions.
