The sixth grade class at Marie Murphy School will experience a three-day outdoor education program sponsored by the Snake River Adventure Center on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin during the first week in May. While there, the students will work together to complete the Teams Challenge Course and will also participate in a variety of classes, including insect study, orienteering, survival skills, non-competitive games, archery and nature awareness. Students may also participate in a night hike and a high ropes challenge course. Teacher Peter Ogden said, "Many of the activities were selected because they extend concepts being taught throughout the year beyond the four classroom walls."
