- Dr. Eugene Hubbell of St. Paul, Minn. delivered a speech on the "Upper Orifices of the Body" before the American Association of Official Surgeons. He stated that adenoids in children lead to criminal tendencies. He said swollen adenoids affect hearing and cause changes in a child's thoughts. Dr. Hubbell said this causes brain damage. The delegates at the convention gave almost unanimous approval to Dr. Hubbell's speech. These included Dr. Marie L. Hunt of Chicago and Dr. E. H. Pratt, professor of surgery in the Hering Medical College, Chicago.
