Fifteen Upper School students traveled to Durham, North Carolina Feb. 17-20 to compete in Duke University's Model United Nations. The delegation included Megan Airey of Winnetka, Suvarna Besanko of Evanston, Max Chung of Highland Park, Cassie Gitkin of Highland Park, Ben Goren of Wilmette, Quinn Gray of Wilmette, Jon Green of Winnetka, Melina Jaharis of Winnetka, Patrick McClanahan of Glencoe, John McHugh of Winnetka, Josie Santi of Winnetka, Katherine Simmons of Evanston, Will Skinner of Winnetka, Mary Sturgis of Winnetka and Alex Vasiliou of Wilmette.

North Shore will welcome Susan Retik as this year's Focus on History speaker Monday. Retik is the co-founder and president of Beyond the 11th, a non-profit organization that provides support to widows in Afghanistan who have been afflicted by war, terrorism, and oppression. She was widowed as a result of 9/11 when she was pregnant with her third child. An inspiring speaker, she will share her remarkable story of transforming personal loss into humanitarian outreach through her work. Her story is documented in the award winning film "Beyond Belief." Retik will present to the Upper School at 10 a.m. Monday in the Diller Street Theater on campus 310 Green Bay Road in Winnetka. This presentation is open to the public. Upper School students are also invited to view "Beyond Belief" on campus that night.

North Shore's Upper School will perform this year's spring musical, "All Shook Up" at 7:30 p.m. tonight, tomorrow and Saturday. The musical is inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students. Ticket orders may be e-mailed to theater@nscds.org, including the performance day(s), the number of adult and student tickets needed for each performance, as well as any special seating needs. All seats are sold as reserved seats.
