A garden party was given as the opening meeting of the Evanston Woman's Club Tues. aftenoon. It was held at the home of Mrs. Gross, 1100 Ridge Ave. in Evanston. Mrs. Gross was absent because of an illness. Mrs. John Schwender, chairman of the program committee and Mrs. Carl Williams, chairman of the social committee planned the event. Entertainment was provided by the Keene Orchestra. The 10th District Federation of Woman's Clubs, to which district the Evanston club belongs, will hold their annual meeting in Lake Bluff, Oct. 8 and 10 a.m.
