New Trier School District 203 will feature a presentation and discussion on teaching and learning Feb. 8. Paul Sally, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, will host the forum. Northfield Dance Ensemble will hold a dance showcase today featuring 105 students. This year's student leaders are Lanie Kafkis, Elisabeth Kinsella, Selena Kowalski, Annie Qamaruddin and Elena Rand. Facuclty leaders are artistic director Carol Bobrow and assistant artistic directors Katie Kritek and Laura Deutsch. New Trier High School will host the annual Gap Fair for Chicago-area schools Saturday in the student cafeteria at the Winnetka campus. Presenters include current gap students Holly Bull and Joset Wright. Performing Arts Division at New Trier High School will present Kinesis, the student dance company, in concert, Feb. 3 and 4 with a children's matinee Feb. 5. Artistic directors are Christopher Rutt and Johannah Wininsky. Kinesis choreographers and dancers are Stephanie Baldwin, Lauren Bergelson, Emma Blackman, Eva Cahnman, Hannah Clark, Patricia Costouros, Katie deLoys, Natalie Dibo, Ellery Garland, Nikki Greenberg, Caroline Hayward, Sarah Jeffers, Sarah Leonard, Alex Miner, Victoria Mitchell, Katrina Mutuc, Rachel Nesnevich, Livvy Robbins, Carly Schwartz, Julia Sheppard, Ali Tarr, Hannah Weissler. Technical director Dave Ferguson works with the Kinesis artistic directors to foster collaboration between the student choreographers and designers. Student lighting designers ad stage crew are Rebecca Britt, Paige Campbell, Emily Isaacson, Janak Jha, Kit Pavlekovsky, Hayley Shelton, and Tomek Wasilewski. Performances will also feature a work choreographed by Peter Carpenter, a choreographer and scholar. New Trier will offer literary discussion of The Odyssey for freshman parents.
