Full Text

William S. Crosby of Glencoe, for more than thirty years a prominent figure on the board of trade, died Monday morning from acute indigestion in St. Luke's hospital, Chicago. Mr. Crosby, who was 65 years old, had been ill for several months. Mr. Crosby for the last ten years was floor manager on the board of trade for Shearson, Hammill and Co., but before that was head of the old firm of Crosby and Co. He was considered one of the deans of the board, and is said to have known as much of the history of its inner workings as any man in Chicago. He was well known to all the grain men in the city. Mr. Crosby had made his home at Glencoe for years. He is survived by a widow, two sons and two daughters.
