Item Type:
Despite approving a tentative $86.2 million tax levy, the New Trier High School Board of Education has predicted a possible deficit in nex year's budget. The school will not capture all requested monies, due to the tax cap. The school district's annual levy increases by 5% or the consumer price index, whichever is less. This year's CPI is 2.7 %. School Districts will approve a balloon levy, or an amount more than they expect to receive, in order to capture as much money as possible. Comments by Associate Superintendent Donald Goers.
