Samuel Rodger Callaway, 87, of Burr Ridge and New Smyrna Beach, Fla., died of pneumonia Feb. 1 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Port Orange, Fla.

Mr. Callaway was born March 13, 1919, in Minneapolis to Roy Samuel and Helen Swanson Callaway. Survivors include his wife, Rae Keller Willkie Callaway; one daughter, Barbara (Michael) Harper of Wilmette; one son, William (Catherine) of Federal Way, Wash.; three stepdaughters, Catherine Willkie of San Jose, Calif., Karen (Barry) Luz of Big Bear Mountain, Calif., and Sarah (Mark) Robinson of Thornton, Colo.; two grandchildren, Lauren and Brian Harper; and four step-grandchildren, Cameron and Kaley Luz, and Sophie and Spencer Robinson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Baker Callaway.
