The upcoming new condominium tower at 611 Green Bay Road is popular with downtown retailers. Comments by Patrick McFadden, owner of The Big Picture Home Theater Co., at 1211 Wilmette Ave. Village leaders and business people hope the new project could give a boost to the downtown area. Chamber of Commerce director, Julie Yusim, would like to see a quality restaurant move into the development, but developer Mitch Miller said that's not likely now. Joe Spera, owner of Al's Meat Market at 1165 Wilmette Ave. is concerned about rising rents. Bob Hausheer of Morning Glory Flower Shop, 1135 Central Ave., feels all business development is a positive force.
