Avoca Caucus seeks individuals to represent the district on the school board. The group will select candidates to fill three seats on the board.
Both varsity and junior varsity girls' volleyball teams at Marie Murphy School experienced outstanding seasons. The varsity team placed second in the North Shore INdependent Conference and came in first in the confeerence tournament held at Sears Schocol. The team was coached by Kathy Mazur. Players included: Allison Jackson, Asia Szczepanik, Carolyn Fuwa, Jenna Rossman, Jessica Santos, Juliette Sward, Katherine Seol, Nicole Hawkins, Nicole Duszczyk, Racheal [sic] Greening, Rachel Lindenberg, Raina Allen, and Victoria Mitchell.
Junior varsity placed first in the North shore Independent Conference and third in teh conference tournament held at Wilmette Jr. High Schocol. The team is coached by Dana Thompson. Team members included Alexa Korbakes, Annie Conaghan, Claire Gilbert, Ellery Lockwood, Krista Martinka, Michelle Dudra, Morgan Bashford, Olivia Kafkis, Peyten Kenneth, Samantha Lee, Shana Khamis, Simona Krifman, Susan Chun, Suzi Kang, and Tatiana Tasiopoulos.
Marie Murphy School junior varsity soccer team, consisting of 6th and 7th graders, won the conference title. Coach Jessica Bodzewski praised team member Sean Visconti, Jonathan Lungu and Max Redemann. Team roster 7th graders: Kevin Aines, Gavin Craig, Laura Park, Max Redemann, Justin Schroeder, Sean Visconti and Steve Volchek. 6th graders: Steffan Balan, Stanislaw Baas, Jonathan Lungu,Aaron Rosen, Justin Schrimmer, Justin Stein, Keenen Valdivia, Josh Werner, and Carlos Zambrano.
