Notes:
Raja Roy-Singh, a resident of Evanston since 1985, died Nov. 3 at Evanston Hospital. He was 87. He was born April 5, 1918, in Pithoragarh, a hill station in the Indian Himalayas. Mr. Roy-Singh retired from the United Nations in 1985 and moved to the United States to be near his children and grandchildren. He became a U.S. citizen in 1989. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zorine (née Bonifacious) Roy-Singh, and a son, Vipin. Survivors include son Pradeep (Jane) of Evanston; daughters Anita Mukand of Evanston, Promilla (Charles) Powell of Wilmette and Brijangana Waterfield of London, England; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 7 at St. Augustine Episcopal Church in Wilmette, with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie. Photograph.
