Howard Bowen, Wilmette building commissioner since early in 1927 and a well known Chicago and north shore architect, passed away suddenly at his home, 1215 Elmwood avenue, Wilmette, Thursday, December 12. Mr. Bowen designed the Wilmette Baptist church and "The Chimneys," Winnetka apartment and commercial block, as well as many other public buildings and beautiful homes on the north shore.
