Dr. Brown was born in Bloomfield, Ontario, Canada, on February 16, 1852, and spent the early part of his life on a farm near the city. Later he became professor of clinical neurology at the same institution.
Dr. Brown came to the north shore about twenty-three years ago, founding the Kenilworth Sanitarium. Dr. Brown was active in numerous civic enterprises of the north shore and Chicago. He was a subscriber to the Chicago Opera company from the year of its organization, an active supporter of the Ravinia Opera and a life member of the Chicago Art institute. He was a member of the Indian Hill Golf club, the Union League club of Chicago and the Chicago Athletic association.
