Mrs. Jean Tilden, wife of Edward Tilden, 1140 Michigan avenue, Wilmette, was killed Monday afternoon when the car in which she and her husband were riding overturned near the J. Ogden Armour estate on Town Line road in Lake Forest.

Mr. and Mrs. Tilden were returning to their home from Lake Forest where they had been spending the day with relatives, when the steering knuckle on the car suddenly gave way, causing the machine to swerve sharply to the side of the road and overturn. Mrs. Tilden sustained injuries resulting in almost immediate death while Mr. Tilden is confined to the Alice Home hospital in Lake Forest with serious injuries about the head and chest.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tilden were conducted last Wednesday afternoon from the chapel in Rosehill cemetery. Interment was also at Rosehill.
