The death of John George Uebelhack of 1406 Washington avenue, occured [sic] suddenly Tuesday, May 23, at his home, the cause probably due to heart failure. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 26, at 2 o'clock, at his home, Dr. Hubert Carleton officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park, with a Masonic service at the grave.

Mr. Uebelhack has long been a resident of the north shore, having conducted a decorating business for twelve years in the north shore suburbs. For the past three years he was a resident of Wilmette. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis C. Uebelhack, a son, Howard, and two sisters, Mrs. Harriet M. Clark and Mrs. Caroline Kirchhoff.

He was active in Masonic work, as a member of Birchwood Lodge No. 1012, A. F. & A. M., and was a member of the Lake Shore Council 59 of Royal League, and Royal Arcanum Garden City council 202.
