- Wilmette Life (Wilmette, Illinois), 26 Mar 1926, p. 18
- Full Text
Mrs. Bertha Conley, widow of the late Amos C. Conley and mother of Dr. B. M. Conley, of 1113 Central avenue, Wilmette, died early Saturday morning of last week at the home of her daughter, Miss Lena Conley, at Boone, Iowa, following an accident the previous evening in which she fell, fracturing her right hip.
Mrs. Conley was 89 years of age and had been in declining health for some time and her death was due to the shock from the accident. In 1819 Mrs. Conley had the misfortune to break her other hip, since which time she was unable to get about except on crutches.
Since her husband's death, eleven years ago, she had spent much time with her son and his family in Wilmette, where she made many friends who will be grieved to learn of her death.
Dr. Conley left Saturday night for Boone, where funeral services were held Monday from the Sacred Heart church. Burial was also at Boone. Mrs. Conley was unable to accompany her husband to the funeral, owing to the illness of their daughter, Miss Susan.
In addition to the daughter with whom Mrs. Conley made her home and the son in Wilmette, four other children survive. A daughter, Mrs. J. O'Connell and a son, Dr. H. C. Conley, reside at Boone; Earnest Conley at Carroll, Iowa, and C. A. Conley, at Philadelphia, Pa.
