June Beebe Atwood, 90, a resident of Kenilworth and a longtime resident of the North Shore, died Nov. 10 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Atwood was born on March 27, 1913 in Chicago to Ada and Archie Beebe. She attended DePaul Law School and became a champion golfer, winning many tournaments
including the WWGA Championship. She married Philip Trowbridge Atwood in 1934. In addition to raising her family, Mrs. Atwood remained very active in the WWGA, as president and as the winner of their first Lifetime Achievement Award. She also was a member of Infant Welfare and Lyric Opera boards.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy (the late Ken) Wright of Wilmette and Jill (Tom) Moorhead of Lake Forest; her son, Jim (Susan) Atwood of LaQuinta, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Philip Trowbridge Atwood.
