Full Text: Former New Trier High School teacher Laura W. Durgin of Carmel, California, died June 2 at Carmel Valley manor Medical Unit. She was 79. A native of Chicago, she was a former resident of Winnetka. She taught English at New Trier between 1942 and 1961. She is survived by a sister, Nancy Osborn of Prescott, Arizona. The funeral, in Pacific Grove, California, was private.
