Mrs. Elson G. Rice of 627 Eleventh street, Wilmette, received a letter from J.A. Verhoven of Bladel, Holland, informing her that he had buried her son, S/Sgt. James B. Rice, in a Catholic cemetery in Bladel after Sergeant Rice's plane was downed over Eindhoven, Holland, on September 17, 1944. He was the nephew of Capt. Anne Brownlee of Wilmette, now stationed in Dallas, Texas, with the Inspector General department. Sergeant Rice's sister, Sara Jane, lives with Mrs. Rice in Wilmette.
