Ambrose J. Rend, a resident at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eugene S. Ward, 727 Linden avenue, Wilmette, since the death of his wife a year ago, died Thursday, August 3, at Evanston hospital. Mr. Rend, 75 years old, was born in Lowell, Mass., and had lived in Chicago for more than 70 years. He was founder of Rend and Company, Chicago coal dealers, and was active in the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his daughter he is survived by three sons, Ambrose J. Jr., John F., and Commander Charles J. Rend, U.S.N. Funeral services were held at St. Francis Xavier church followed by interment at Calvary.
