George F. Saunders Dies at Sterling [heading] George F. Saunders, organizer and president of the Fort Dearborn Manufacturing company and a former resident of Wilmette, died on Sunday at Sterling, Illinois, after a long illness. He was 68 years old. Born at Galt, Ontario, Mr. Saunders came to Chicago at the age of 20. He moved to Wilmette in 1902 and lived about fifteen years at Ninth street and Forest avenue. His factory formerly was located at Clybourn avenue junction of the North Western railway in Chicago, but was moved to Sterling, Illinois some years ago. Mr Saunders was a close friend of the late Edward Brundage of Lake Forest, former attorney general of Illinois. He was prominent in Masonic circles, and was a past commander of Lincoln Park commandery No. 64, K. T., and past master of Lincoln Park lodge No. 611, A. F. and A. M. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Minnie McNeill Saunders, two sons, Neill M., who is carrying on his father's business, and Don F., and two brothers, William Y. of Wilmette and James of Conrad, Montana. The funeral services were conducted by Lincoln Park commandery No. 64, K. T., at the funeral chapel at 2701 N. Clark street, Chicago, on Wednesday afternoon. Burial took place at Rosehill cemetery.
