Mrs. Anna Mulford Brown, 86, passed away in L akeland, Fla., November 19 [1937], four months after the death of her husband, Pliny Bliss Brown, aged 88. They had celebrated their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary. One of their daughters, Mrs. Gordon Wilson, Resides in Wilmette. Besides Mrs. Wilson, they are survived by two sons and three daughters; Clarence B. Brown of Evanston; Pliny Bliss Brown of Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Rebecca Drennan [unclear], Mrs. Catherine Stalev [unclear], and Mrs. Anna Fitch of Lakeland, where Mr. and Mrs. Brown had lived for about twenty years, and where they are buried. Both had many friends on the north shore. For many years they lived in Evanston where all of their children were born. Anna Mulford Brown was the granddaughter of Maj. Edward Mulford, for whom Mulford street, in Evanston, is named. The old homestead, in which three generations were born, still stands at the corner of Ridge avenue and Mulford street. Major Mulford was one of the original pioneers of Evanston, coming to the middle-west from Philadelphia, and he and his wife were among the founders of the First Baptist church in Evanston, in chich there is a memorial for them. Mr. and Mrs. Pliny Bliss Brown were charter members of the First Presbyterian church in Evanston. Mrs. Brown's brother, James Mulford, was killed in the Civil war.
