W. H. Marcy, 823 Wilson Ave., Chicago, was arrested Fri. for swindling several people, including Evanstonians. Marcy was allegedly going to give de luxe editions of books to his victims in exchange for large sums of money. Among the victims are: Lawrence Clark, 2402 Pioneer Rd., Evanston, Henry Weiss, assistant cashier of the Harris Trust and Savings Bank and ex-alderman Harry P. Pearsons, 1816 Chicago Ave. Clark reported Marcy to authorities. Marcy had served time in the Stillwater Penitentiary and is out on parole. He was sentenced in Duluth for working a confidence game.
