The North Shore Scandivinavian Male Singing Society of Evanston, founded about three months ago, will give its first concert Oct. 17 in the Evanston Auditorium. The purpose of the society is to promote singting of Norwegian, Swedish and Danish Songs. The chorus also sings English songs. One of the society's organizers is Carl T. Smith, organist at the Norwegian and Danish Lutheran Church. Because of great interest, a women's singing society has been organized and it will perform at the Oct. 17 concert. The societies are for all Swedish, Norwegian and Danish people from the North Shore. The societies officers are: Samuel Berg, president; Joseph Gordon, secretary; Nels Juul, financial secretary; Carl T. Smith, musical directer. The program committee consists of A. Anderson, A. Amundsen and C. T. Smith.
