Consulting group, Lakota Group Inc., principal Scott Freres, was hired by Wilmette to develop concepts to build a Village Center master plan. At a September 16 workshop, residents and business owners heard Freres describe possible futures for several different downtown areas. These include the Chaser Bank Site at Central and 12th St., the former Imperial Motors site north of Central Ave. on Green Bay Road, and the arera surrounding the Wilmete Public Library including the now empty former Wil-Shore Ford property as well as the Village hall site east of Green Bay. The plans will be reviews one last time before presentation to the village's Plan Commission for review within the next month.
