Evanston Mayor Paden told the city council Tues. night that trustees of the Sanitary District had submitted plans for divirting Evanston's sewage to the Sanitary Canal. The city of Evanston opposed the Sanitary District's initial plans for a pumping station on University Place to divert sewage to a canal near Lincoln St. because it would make an open sewer of the canal.
