On Wed. night the Mason Park Military Band played at the dedication of the new concrete band stand in the Lake Front Park in Evanston. More than 2,000 people attended. M. O. Naramore, the band's director gave a short history of the organization and Acting Mayor C. B. Congdon gave a presentation address. This was followed by an address by H. E. Chandler of the Evanston Commercial Association who spoke in place of C. D. MacPherson who was unable to attend. After the speeches, the band played patriotic music. Then the Girls of Mason Park, directed by Ethel M. Lewis folk danced. Mr. Chandler then gave an address on behalf of the Commercial Association. He thanked the Mayor and City Council for their support of the construction of the band stand. He encouraged the public to thank them. He also praised the band and its leader. It is expected that there will be weekly concerts.
