Mrs. Francis M. [sic] Beebe, 66 years old, pioneer resident of Evanston, and wife of the Rev. Jonathan W. [sic] Beebe, for years active in mission work in northern Illinois, died Sunday morning at her home in Evanston. Mrs. Beebe was a daughter of Alonzo Burroughs, a lake captain. She was married to the Rev. Mr. Beebe in 1868. On the site of the first house built in Evanston still stands the old Burroughs residence, although the family had not occupied it for a number of years. Mrs. Beebe owned the property. She was educated at Jones Female Seminary and afterwards became a school teacher. Three sons and one daughter survive. They are Walter E. Beebe, attorney for the Chicago sanitary district; Dr. Arthur Beebe of Stillman Valley, Illinois. ; Charles D. Beebe, mechanical engineer, Plano, Illinois; and Miss Anna Beebe, instructor in the department of music in the Illnois Woman's College, Jacksonville, Illinois. Funeral services were held at the residence at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Stewart B. Edmondson, pastor of the Waveland Avenue Metehodist Episcopal church, Chicago, and the Rev. Frederick Bennett, pastor of the Free Methodist Church, Evanston
