Miss Elizabeth Lauermann has returned from a two weeks' vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hanke of Chicago visited their relatives over Sunday. Mast Nic. Schaefgen, employed by Klinge & White, sprained his ankle last week. Miss Helen Schleyer of Chicago will be the guest of Miss Florence Schaefer for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nanzig and family were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lear Sunday. Mrs. Ida Decker of Evanston is spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Klemm. A number of the members of the Young Men's Club and their ladies had a hay-rack party to Glen View last Sunday. Miss Susan M. Hoffman of Gross Point was surprised last week by twenty-five friends in honor of her birthday. The prize winners of the Ladies' Card club, which met at the home of Mrs. Paul Bleser, were Mrs. A. M. Lauermann, first prize, and Mrs. John Schaefer, second prize. Rev. Jos. B. Lauermann has taken charge of the Sacred Heart parish, Seventieth and May streets, Chicago, for three months during the absence of its pastor in Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Doetsch and Mrs. Hovely of Brawley, Cal. arrived last week for a months stay with relatives. Before returning home they will go to Canaga and New York City. Mrs. Maria Alles who died last Thursday, was buried Monday at St. Joseph's cemetery, after a solemn requiem celebrated by Rev. Anton Vollmann. She was 88 years of age, and came to this country in 1847. The Evening club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Bell. Those who carried away the prizes were; Frank Kreusch, first, and Frank M. Mueller, second, of the gentleman, and Mrs. N. J. Miller, first, and Mrs. John Bell, second, of the ladies. The Gross Point Juniors whitewashed the Glencoe team last Sunday. The score was 14-0. The juniors are beginning to attract notice. They are newly organized and composed entirely of home talent. In their three games played the opposing teams haven't stood the least chance of winning. They will play the Glenview Juniors next Sunday.
