Thousands are expected to attend an aquatic exhibition and display of boats in Lake Michigan, off Grant Park in Chicago from Aug. 10 to 17. The show will include every variety of boat from military boats, to canoes, to millionaires' steam yachts to houseboats. The officers of the water fete organized by the Associated Yacht and Power Boat Clubs of America are: William Hale Thompson, commodore; Thomas J. Quaile, vice-commodore; Dr. Bayard Holmes, Jr., rear commodore; Nelson N. Lampert, treasurer; Edward P. Farley, secretary, and John R. Young, manager. The power boat race officials are: Judges- Commodore W. H. Melviee, Motor Boat Club of America, New York; Commodore W. J. Gunnell, Motor Boat Club of Buffalo, N.Y.; W. C. Thorne, Chicago Yacht Club. Starter-William Ohl, Illinois Valley Yacht Club, Peoria, Ill. Timers-Commodore St. Clair Ede, Mississippi Valley Power Boat Association, Dubuque, Ia.; Commodore A. T. Griffith, Peoria Yacht Club, Peoria, Ill; Commodore W. E. Scripps, Detroit Motor Boat Club, Detroit, Mich. Measurer-Morris Whittaker, Upper Nyack, N.Y. The carnival will include yacht and hydroplane races.
