Cash proceeds from a fund raiser for the Green White Soccer Club were in a suitcase which fell from the top of the car driven by the man entrusted with it. A passerby alerted police that a tanker truck was pulled over to the side of the road and the driver was collecting wads of cash lining Golf Road. Through the license plate, police tracked down the driver and all but $2,800 of the $15,000 was recovered. Club members are waiting to see if all those who found their money will turn it in voluntarily. Full article available at Wilmette Public Library.
