Paul Tyska, 24, of Wilmette, was in Haiti when the magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the afternoon of January 12, having arrived the day before with a group of student volunteers from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Tyska was not seriously injured. He and members of the group were evacuated to the Dominican Republic, and then to Fort Lauderdael. His parents, Paul and patricia, and two younger sisters, Margaret, 19, and Molli, 9, were there to greet him. His brother Michael also joined the family.
