Mrs. Karl King and Mrs. L. F. Gates, of the Wilmette library board, Mrs. Carrie B. Prouty, E. R. Lewis, and D. K. French froml the Winnetka board, and O.R. Barnett and H. P. Pope from the Glencoe board were among those who attended a dinner meeting given by the Evanston public library board last Thursday evening in the fountain room of the North Shore hotel, Evanston. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the question of library legislation in the state and to consider the responsibilities of library trustees. Mrs. A. W. Errett, president of the Illinois Library association, Theodore W. Koch, Librarian at Northwestern university, and M. F. Gallagher, of Evanston, were the speakers. C. R. Kappes, president of the Evanston board, presided at the meeting.
