The Board of Education for New Trier Township High School District 203 will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 16.

New Trier High School's Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and Concert Choir will hold their annual joint concert at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Gaffney Auditorium on the Winnetka Campus.



David Ladd and Susan Vaughan will direct the Concert Choir. Randall Casey is the accompanist and Mike Withers, a student teacher, will assist.

The Chamber Orchestra will accompany Daniel Cline, the evening's guest soloist, who will perform Cello Concerto No. 1 Opus 33 by Camille Saint-Saens.
The orchestras are conducted by Peter Rosheger and Patti Rohwer.



The New Trier Art Department with support from the New Trier Educational Foundation will feature work from Robin Bowman's award -winning book, It's Complicated, The American Teenager in the Brierly Gallery through Dec. 6.


The following New Trier students were selected for the upcoming Illinois Music Educators Association District VII festivals. New Trier has a total of 46 selections in the five divisions.

Band: Nick Bonamici, Maeli Goren, Harvey Kaplan, and Brian Smart.

Orchestra: Shea Acott, Emily Acri, Adam Davis, Teddy Gabrielides, Meredith Hyun, George Hyun, Eleanor Hyun, Emily Jones, Carrie Jones, Miles Link, Yong Park, Alexa Peterson, James Stinehart, Daniel Villalon, Laura Birkhold, Sam Mattenson, Julia Paine, Zachary Popp, Linc Rhodes, and Ben Zisook

Chorus: Carole Kaplan, Ellen Katcha, Eilis Lombard, Erin McDonough, Emily McLane, Emma Moss, and Mariel Saavedra

Vocal Jazz: Charlie Boyd, Ina Civgin, Jacob Dray, Carrie Furniss, Hadley Kennary, Claire Mesrobian, Mariel Saavedra, and Elli Sutter.

Jazz Band: Jake Hamburger, Harvey Kaplan, Eastman Presser, Cody Scheyer, Shane Simpson, Ben Solomon, and Ben Zisook

The IMEA District VII Junior and Senior Jazz Festival will take place Nov. 14 at Glenbrook North High School. Guest conductors include: Steve Widenhoffer for Vocal Jazz I, Ryan Rimington for Vocal Jazz II, Rob Parton for Jazz Band I, and Jim Warrick for Jazz Band II.

The IMEA District VII Senior Festival featuring the band, chorus and orchestra will take place at 3 p.m. Nov. 21 at McHenry High School (West Campus). Guest conductors are Thomas Dvorak, Band; Louis Bergonzi, Orchestra; and Robert Sinclair, Chorus.

Fourteen members of the Model United Nations team attended a conference at Washington University in St. Louis from Oct. 16-18. New Trier received an honorable mention as a delegation. Students receiving individual recognition were: Dale Watt, best delegate; Adrian DeSmul, honorable mention; NathanBennett, outstanding delegate; and Francis Brown, best position paper. In January, the team will travel to Harvard University.

New Trier's Cancer Prevention Club will host its annual Great American Smokeout at the Winnetka campus Nov. 17
