Notes:
The Baha'i community of Wilmette will sponsor a free "Computer Basics: Introduction to Microsoft Word and the Internet" class from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, June 24 through July 29 at 401 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette.

Holocaust survivor Aaron Elster will speak at 7 p.m. June 18 at 509 Park Drive in Kenilworth. T. Tolbert Chisum and Dick Green will serve as host and master of ceremonies, respectively, at this nonpartisan event.

The Connecting Kids Preschool program at Romona School will hold half-day sessions for 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds to prepare them for District 39 kindergarten classes.
Library
The following programs are offered at the Wilmette Library, 1242 Wilmette Ave.

Fourth Monday Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. June 22 to discuss Age of Silence by Sara Paretsky.

Jan Schwartz will discuss "Sholem Aleichem and the Future of Yiddish" at 12:15 p.m. June 30. This event is part of the Chicago YIVO Society 2009 Summer Festival of Yiddish Culture. Patrons are advised to allow extra time for parking and seating.

Children can bring their Pokemon and Bakugan cards for trading and informal play between 3:30-5:30 p.m. June 19 in the Youth Program Room.

A family picnic featuring Craig Sjogerman (aka Dr. Gesundheit) will take place at 6:30 p.m. June 23 on the library's front lawn. In case of rain or extreme heat the event will take place in the library auditorium.

A story in the park will take place for children in preschool from 4-4:30 p.m. June 22 in Thornwood Park.

Book Buddies will take place from 7-7:45 p.m. Thursdays, June 25 through July 30 in the Youth Program Room. Children entering sixth grade and older can help younger buddies ages 4-8 work on their reading skills.

Digital Media Design from Scratch for children ages 10-14 will take place from 3-5 p.m. June 29 and July 2 in the Small Meeting Room. Children must attend the first session to attend the second session.

Museum
The Wilmette Historical Museum will present the exhibition "Asian Games: The Art of Contest" from 1-4:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, through Aug. 9 at 609 Ridge Road. Asian Games Day will take place from noon-3 p.m. June 20 and "Go" Game Night will take place from 7:30-8:30 p.m. June 23.
